This is a video I made for my Facebook Group, Sally's Sweet Romance Fans. I thought I'd share it with anyone else who might enjoy it.

This is me, Sally Britton, reading the first chapter of my new book, Copper for the Countess. While doing this, my gratitude for professional narrators increased exponentially!

I thought your reading was amazing! I LOVE the concept, and *I’m a die hard western romance hatin’ reader* (hear the best western you can in that, darlin’).
You’ve got my email. I’m on your Facebook. Artist to artist (and yeah, I really get that pen to paper when stuck thing, ooh and another tip, pick a few songs you love. Print them up in different sizes fonts whatever you like, and snip partial sentences up of 4 or 5 words. Or a whole sentence if it sets you on fire. Then write. Write whatever emotions images scenes and thoughts even if “I don’t know what to write “ needs to be written a few times. It’s a game changer for writers block. It gets your brain flowing again, and you can go back, energized with new life to your story, minus any plagiarizing 😂 ) anyway as I was saying, artist to artist I’d love to connect with you. I’m working on something for kids… moving away from romance for a while. Anyway, drop me an email if you don’t mind exchanging a few thoughts with me.

Otherwise, your books are amazing. I’m growing quite an audible library. You only have one reader who’s voice I don’t care for, which is great. Stay away from those old crotchety sounding older ladies. You know, the ones that do menacing voices so well that they can’t actually do nice voices well? Some of the greats have used them like Lindsay, Garwood etc.

Finding a world of clean romance recently has changed the game for me and of all the authors I’ve read, I put you in “the greats ” category, you develop a romance that feels real, with a more satisfactory ending. It builds, it doesn’t just happen in the last 2 sentences “and then they kissed, and were so in love “. So empty. Such a regretful end to any good book. And no build up. But you… as a reader we feel it much earlier on. Oh! And how I wept reading the earl for the lady or whatever it’s called—I don’t mean to be flippant, I have an unruptured aneurysm making me have memory gaps. It came on like a stroke, so I’m recovering from that. But ANYWAY the tears I wept for her and him, I guess it’s facing my own losses and tragedies, several very raw and recent that made me feel a kinship to them, mete characters. But isn’t that what writing’s supposed to do?

When you can make your reader smile, laugh and cry, you’ve made it. One book or a hundred. So well done!
